Octy Project 2011

Featured Replies

My vRS is quite a high mileage car, bought at 135k up to 144k now. So the other day the coil pack went and through this I had found that the breather hose has gone. So as a pre-emptive strike I have decided this is what I am going to do next year to my car to help towards keeping it alive for another 100k. So this is just a basic idea of what I think I need to do. Can anyone suggest anything else I need to look at?

Change suspension bush mounts

change oil

change oil filter.

change water

Change sparks

Clean and empty pancake pipe and SMIC

Dump valve.

New pipes.

Upgrade breaks

respray wheels

Upgrade to CAI

install oil catch can

Mop paint work.

Fresh badges.

oil pickup pipe would be the top of your priority

what do I want todo with that, replace or clean it out?

will the oil catch can replace it?

you have to remove the sump to replace it. it the pickup pipe that takes oil from sump around the engine and once blocked = engine failure

new one is £8 from skoda + sealent £14

imo most importanat job to do on a high milage car
