Bluetooth/Brodit/HTC Desire

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm pretty certain that it will be fine but are there any Yeti owners out there with an HTC Desire 'phone who can confirm that it works seamlessly with the GSM 2 Bluetooth setup in the Yeti Elegance?

Nothing I've read (although cannot find a definite list) seems to suggest that it will not but it would be good to hear confirmation! Is there anything I should be aware of, any foibles, or is it 100%?

On a similar but connected issue I am considering a Brodit mount, one that fixes to the A pillar as I intend to use the Desire's built in Google Sat Nav and this seem to be the best position to not take take ones eyes off the road too far. Anyone have any experience of the Brodit mounted on the A pillar - pros or cons? I intend to wire it up to permanent supply so I do not need to trail the wire to the power socket, it looks quite straightforward as the fuse box is directly underneath, but again does anyone have any experience of this setup care to pass on their experience?

I was checking Bluetooth connection with my HTC Desire after test drive. I was able to connect without any problems and also Bolero was able to read my phone book. Didn't try to stream music over Bluetooth..

My HTC Hero (Android 2.1) did connect without any problems, but, no access to the phone book even to those contacts on the SIM card. Read that Android is missing rSAP which is needed, but I'm not sure if that is the problem. Otherwise it works fine calling and receiving calls using bolero or the buttons on the steering wheel. And you hear the person you are calling very clearly in the cars speakers.

My HTC Desire is running Android 2.2 and all my contacts are Google contacts (not on SIM card).

Fitted my Brodit mount last week and wired it in to the fuse box, no problems at all.

Buy one of these:

I used this holder as it fits my wife's iPhone 3GS and also my iPhone 4:

I used a mount for the console position however, so it means if I'm driving, my wife can see it as well, send texts, change music etc.

Ran the cable fairly neatly straight across and over the steering wheel and might add a dab of clear silicon at some point, but it looks alright so might not bother.

I have a Fabia VRS II with the same bluetooth system and it works 100% with the HTC Desire (including music streaming).

Many thanks for the responses, especially DaveHutch for those links. That power connector looks to serve the purpose nicely

No problem. Somebody else put the link here a few months ago so I can't claim originality on that one.
