How much does a helicopter actually weigh? I presume they aren't actually going land it on the roof?

Hi James,

looks like a Robinson R22 so if wiki is correct;

Loaded weight: 920 lb (417 kg)

That is rather heavy but not as heavy as I thought. Would be a pretty cool trick. The Yeti is now basically an aircraft carrier.

Or, just consider this, the Copter flies down and hooks the Yeti up in its feet things, by the roof-rails and lifts it up to assist it over a nasty bit of off-road terrain.

Gives a whole new meaning to "Off-Road-Assist" - and there's no button for it either.

They could call it Lift Assist. Or even Fly Assist. (But now I'm beginning to sound like the Hamster... ... ... ...)

Is that not the Greenline Yeti powered by a solar panel?

According to finalgear.com the next season of Top Gear starts on January 23rd and the "other one" - Fifth Gear is currently on a break.

If you don't blink, you can see a little more of what they are up to with the Yeti on the Top Gear Sneak Preview

I wonder if the Yeti will find a place on the 'cool wall' - Cool, sub-zero, or un-cool?

MOTORING: Top Gear

On: BBC HD (169)

Date: Sunday 23rd January 2011 (starting in 6 days)

Time: 20:00 to 21:00 (1 hour long)

In the first of six brand new episodes, Jeremy Clarkson subjects the Skoda Yeti to a remarkably thorough road test, while James May makes a rare visit to the test track in the insane Aerial Atom V8. Meanwhile, Richard Hammond celebrates the incredible evolution of the Porsche 911 by racing a modern Turbo Cabriolet against its oldest relative and the power of gravity. Plus there's more heated studio debate with the return of the Cool Wall and another celebrity guest takes their turn in the Reasonably Priced Car.

(Stereo, Widescreen, High Definition, Subtitles, 12, 4 Star)

Confirmed. This coming Sunday (23rd) at 8.00 pm.

Snag is that this clashes with 'Lark Rise to Candleford' on BBC1/BBC1 HD :S

I'm hoping there's a repeat (of Top Gear) on BBC HD on Mon/Tues

That is SUCH a girl's comment. Have you no shame? Lark Rise to Candleford v Top Gear, man or mouse, VRS or 2CV?

Understood and under normal circumstances I'd agree; but I 'know which side my bread is buttered' that's perhaps why I celebrated my 25th wedding anniversary in October last year.

Might look up when Lark Rise gets repeated as the 7:00pm Wed for Top Gear is too early in the evening for me. Decisions! :o

Top gear for me... and a new wife after 3 years.

Alternatively, get Sky Plus, one of the great inventions of the last 20 years. Once you have it your life becomes easier, in a very Western, shallow way.

Bahnstormer - I can forgive you as you are the first person to go for the Tangerine Yeti and I am envious.

I might have to resort to this; my son has SKY on his TV 'upstairs'. Another option, or I might record to DVD

Thanks; picture will be available in a while.
