Creaky rear Doors!

Featured Replies

I had creaking doors on mine, was driving me mad. Bought some Gummi Pflege from a certain internet aution site, applied it to the 'felt' seals along the top of the rear doors and the top and front edge of the front doors and it solved the problem. Will know doubt have to reapply at some point but it's been four weeks now and still silent.

It was 'creak' more than a 'click' though.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, It sounds like a series of clicks (like creaks, I suppose). What is interesting is after applying the lubricant, it creaks more when turning out of the driveway, but when moving it is noticeably better, not buzz anymore.

I suppose it is a bit of a trade off between both then!

I applied it to all the visible rubber on the door, including the bottom (rubber side) of the felt type rubber on top of the doors.

Might settle later on, never know! :wonder:

Cheers!

I used Armour All Protective Gel on the top most seals of the doors and the squeaks and creaks of all four door have disappeared......my yeti is super silent now

Anyone know if any of this stuff works on creaky knees?

I'm not so sure that is the reason, if it was then sure my old 5 series estates would have done the same.

Having owned every generation of 5-Series Tourings except the F11, I can assure you they all flex. The considerable flex of the E39 Touring was one reason why an M5 version was never built (the other being the 'compact' rear suspension that was less satisfactory than the saloon's from the handling point of view, though it did offer no intrusion into the load space).

Many of them have creaking door seals too.
