Poor brakes from cold

Featured Replies

When my car has been left for a few days in the cold the brakes are apalling, the pedal is hard. After a few mins of use they become fine. Why?

Same on my BMW mate. Please be careful to ensure you don't floor it from cold. Especially if the car has been standing a few days...

I was going a tad too fast lastyear after the car had been left for a few days. Upon approaching a T-Junction the ABS kicked in hard and the car simply rolled down the declined bank and into free moving traffic...no control whatsover....

I was lucky I survived! Simply tap the brake's until they are fully warmed up...

Ice forms on all parts of your car in the cold, presumably including the brake discs, they will always be less effective when they are cold. Take it easy out there brother.

And surface rust.

Ever washed the car, not driven it & had a look at the discs in the morning?
