Front wipers - need to change

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Really loving my VRS, has to be the best car I've had but I'm one of these freaks who like there windscreen nice and clean all the time. But the wipers on the Fabia are rubbish!. I've changed the blades and they are still rubbish. I had a 54 plate Astra before the Fabia and it had loads better wipers. The rest of the car wasn't as good and it kept breaking down but the wipers were very good.

What are my options for change??

Also how easy are they to change? or is it a case of getting different blades and keeping the same arms.

Many Thanks

Josh Gosling

Did you use Skoda ones? I've never found them to be a problem...

Yep and still not clearing very well. Which is strange as I've never had this issue before with new blades. But I think its the same they are designed and not anything else. But can I change them for something better....

Are you sure it's the wiper blades and not an oily/dirty film on the screen?

What do you clean the screen with?

Try cleaning the screen with a glass cleaner wax/polish first.

Failing that it could be the screen is that old that the glass is covered in ingrained crud - ever wondered why a new windscreen is amazing ?! time for a new windscreen perhaps?!

Hi Josh, I bought some flat blade wipers from Ebay and they are far better than the bosch that were fitted, and they were only £6.49 including postage, part No for My Octavia was 380228871634, obviously this would be a different listing No for your Fabia, it's worth a try for the sake of £6.49 or thereabouts, they fit directly onto the original wiper arms as well, and look cool into the bargain.

Hope this helps Regards Rich (delboysrobin)
