VRs How low can i go (speedbumps)

Featured Replies

Only had my Vrs 1 week, as it came with 17" spiders it needs lowering.

The car is my daily driver and i have to go over allot of speedbumps where i live and near work, threfore need to know how low i can go before deciding on a setup.

I'm gutted as my old Astra was lowered and used to slightly catch the CAT on very large speedbumps and multystoreys, i was going to and forgot to measure cat-ground clearance which would have given me an actual reading to go by.

only you can judge just how low you can go, but get some coilovers and take it from there, if at first its too low then lift her up a little, and so on and so forth emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I have lowered my car pretty much as low as a fabia will go, fronts near scrubbing, and rears no cups. While i admit it sometimes takes some forward planning when going where i`v not been before, it is still my daily drive. Its ok going over big bumps, as long as the front wheels dont go down before the rears come up if you get me. Also, the little bumps in the middle of the road need to be "spilt" and go over with one wheel, else you`ll take the sump out. Again, watch the sump of county lanes with funny dips in the road. But over all, i dont have any massive issues TBH, however, as said, its down to you, the bonus is you can tweek it easy enough

Like what jusy been said its totally down to you. If you slow down to 1-2mph then doesnt matter how low you are yull be fine really. Only things that catch arent important haha

I live in a heavily built up speed bump area with all different types of actual speed bumps and have owned over 5 seriously low cars that you cannot get ur toe under the sills so basically i would say there is never a too low its how much ur prepared to go out of ur way to get over such bumps etc, people who think there low moan, people who ARE low just get on with it :)
