Occty II New HU install wiring & Aerial Problem

Featured Replies

Newbie, Help needed, have fitted an after-market Head Unit (7" Chinese, Sat-Nav, DVD etc.) using a "Connects2" ,CT23SK01A, & 2 DIN cage (into a 2005 L&K Octavia II).

Also have a Connects2 Steering Wheel control can-bus adaptor to aid fitting HU, not sure where to pick up additional wiring connections though, have done some through ISO block etc (ones i can't find in the car are the Gala / Speed Pulse & the Reverse wire). I am not impressed at all with "Connects2" stuff.

Finally the radio, using the OEM amplified Aerial is absolutely dire at best and no signal at worst [Works OK with OEM Stream] ( I have put an adaptor in (wrongly called a "Booster") to send 12 volts up to it. Sometimes i get a "half reasonable" signal and i have to turn radio on / off / on a few times to get this, most times its just noise. Not sure if it's an Impedance difference / mismatch or Aerial supply voltage difference. Also had the same problem with a Mk4 golf previously. I did read somewhere on here something about the Amplified OEM Aerials (or an external link) but can't seem to find it again. Any thoughts on this it is obviously a common problem that many of you are having, I don't see why this should be so hard to sort out, but it seems it is, has anyone got any Technical info on the OEM Aerials ie impedance, supply voltage range, amplifier chip used, drawing etc.
