My gasket fell to pieces when i removed the throttle body so get a new gasket before attempting the TB clean..... just in case, it's only a few quid.

I used carb cleaner for mine, also used some of the missus's cotton bud stick things for stubborn bits near edges and close to the flap.

This is a job I'm thinking of doing soon, intresting to see what state its in, cars only just clicked on to 42k, but has it ever been cleaned before?... not that I know of... We will see! :yes:

+1 for this they are great to get in the hard to reach stubborn places. little tip, dont put them back after using them. the mrs was not happy

done mine on the week end car has done 155k and tbh there was not really much dirt in there has helped with a flat spot though

Just went to local Skoda dealer to buy TB- and downpipe-gasket. Both went to factory order! They said that normally it takes about a week, but may take more than a month... nice.

I picked up my TB gasket today, ordered it on Thursday from a VW dealership

cleaned mine out yesterday, after 1 year and 5k it was pretty clean. But for £2.14 it's worth doing.

£1.97 from TPS and next day delivery. However its now bucketing it down and Im not getting soaked.
