My gasket fell to pieces when i removed the throttle body so get a new gasket before attempting the TB clean..... just in case, it's only a few quid.

I used carb cleaner for mine, also used some of the missus's cotton bud stick things for stubborn bits near edges and close to the flap.

This is a job I'm thinking of doing soon, intresting to see what state its in, cars only just clicked on to 42k, but has it ever been cleaned before?... not that I know of... We will see! :yes:

+1 for this :thumbup: they are great to get in the hard to reach stubborn places. little tip, dont put them back after using them. the mrs was not happy :giggle:

done mine on the week end car has done 155k and tbh there was not really much dirt in there has helped with a flat spot though :thumbup:

Just went to local Skoda dealer to buy TB- and downpipe-gasket. Both went to factory order! They said that normally it takes about a week, but may take more than a month... nice.

I tought that these were normal warehouse stuff...

I picked up my TB gasket today, ordered it on Thursday from a VW dealership :thumbup:

cleaned mine out yesterday, after 1 year and 5k it was pretty clean. But for £2.14 it's worth doing.

£1.97 from TPS and next day delivery. However its now bucketing it down and Im not getting soaked.
