I routed my parrot mic the following way:

I put the microphone up by the interior light, pull the light out of its housing, you'll want to run the wire between the headlining and the light housing, it will go through there and allow you to still fit the light back in. Now remove the passenger side sun visor and the bracket holding it in (purely just for slightly more movement in the headlining). You're going to want to run the wire from the light all the way to the plastic trim that runs down inbetween the passenger door and the windscreen. You can push the cable straight forwards out inbetween the headlining and the windscreen then move it across. The headlining will pull down a bit giving you a bit of fingerspace to get the cable sitting right inside there.

Then you'll want to run the cable under the plastic trim down to the dash, the trim will pull off but there's no real need to as you can push the cable underneith it from the windscreen side. First pull all the cable through the headlining, then pull it all down the plastic trim.

Now remove the glovebox and the cover on the lefthand side of it. You should be able to thread the cable through from the bottom of the trim to the glovebox, then over the glovebox to the back of the headunit. This is the way i routed my parrot and its stayed there for the past year(ish) without coming loose.

One thing i did notice though, i've just bought myself the KDR711 and it didn't appear that the mic cable would be long enough to route it that way - probably best to test it first on the outside of the trim before threading it though

Good luck!

Hello! I'm also in Sussex with a Fabia and debating whether or not to pay the £60 my local car stereo shop want to charge to have the JVC KDR811 fitted. How did you get on? Is it relatively straightforward??

Thanks!

Was quite easy in the end. Just switched red and yellow wires over as in the manual and routed the rear usb to the tray underneath, after drilling a hole.

With the Mic I mounted on the a pillar next to the drivers door. Routed wire down the trim and In through the fuse box cover. Then over the steering column and in to the centre console. Had to remove several torx screws and pull back bits of dash but it went eventually. There is a thread on here where someone has done a double din jvc and has pics of how to route the Mic.

Hope this helps, but its easy enough to do if you set aside a couple of hours!

I'm going to be attempting this on Sat, and this sounds the best route.

Let the swearing commence! B)

Thanks! Do you know if the lead to the glovebox is entirely necessary? I can say with reasonable confidence I'm not likely to want to plug my phone in in the glovebox, would rather have it within reach...so seems like extra installation hassle for nothing....

I just routed the wires over the glovebox (mainly because the parrot unit is held above the glovebox). Nothing actually goes inside the glovebox.

Ah ok. The guy in the shop was going on about being able to plug the phone in in the glovebox out of sight...

Think I'm going to save myself £60 and set myself the challenge of installing it...if only to prove girls can be practical when it comes to cars!!

I drilled a hole in the back of the little cubby hole just under the headunit and have the wire in there - So if i want to plug my iphone in, its just in there!

Same as that, I now have a tiny micro usb card reader attached with 170 albums on, lovely!! Would love to have the elegance drawer to hide it, but dealer price is shocking!
