18" dilemma

Featured Replies

Hi all, I recently acquired an MY2006 Octavia II Combi. It came with 15" standard wheels shod with 195/65/15s. I am keen to get a set of used Kleemann wheels that are 8.5 x 18" with an ET 35 offset.

I don't know if this question has been raised before...but will this 18" with 35 offset fit ? I don't want to roll arches or anything like that.

welcome to briskoda

The offset of 35 is very tight

My 18" alloys have an offset of 51

Hi and welcome aboard.

Thanks for all the welcomes.

I suspect a 35 offset on 18"s would be a problem but just needed to be sure. Again what is the rule here for the Octy II ? Anyone knows the lowest ET for various wheel sizes from 16"s to 19"s before they rub ? I know the offset varies with wheel width but have been scoping the net for weeks and can't find any answer for the Octy II....

And another thing, I know the Octy II with a 2.0 Fsi and an auto 6 speed tiptronic should be quite fuel efficient, but the average fuel consumption that I am getting on the info display is unbelievable !! The car even betters my previous 1.6 litre Toyota. My average as at today (based on the long term memory 2 is 8.8 L/100Km). Makes you wonder if the onboard computer is accurate (I just got the Combi a few days ago and so am still on the first tankful...will do a manual calculation to verify)...I find it quite unbelievable.

Just to answer my own question, I got myself a replica set of 18" Interlagos (used on VW Passat CCs) that are ET 45 and they fill the arches nicely with no rubbing.
