VRS Appreciation

Featured Replies

Just wondering with the Fabia VRS model has anyone got bored of it? Would you think that you would ever get rid of it?

Yes, planning on changing for a Civic Type R EP3

Its done me well for 3 years, but fancy a change and something a bit quicker.

I definately want something quicker and I'm considering something RWD next time. I do like the look of the new Fabia vRS estate but not sure if I'll get bored of it or not.

I started getting bored with mine then enjoyed it again when i fitted the Dragon Box a couple of years ago. Was like a new car again. It's gone now but we still have the wife's vRS so i now have the benefit of driving one every so often rather than all the time when we had the two of them.

Hope that all makes sense???? :giggle:

Cheers

Thanks for giving me an in site. VRS Goldie Jon - will you be looking to sell your VRS soon. I am looking to get one this week. Got about £4500 to spend on one.

It wont be until the summer i'm afraid, by all means when I come to sell I will let you know, but if your planning on very soon good luck. Look for as many extra's as you can. Xenons, Heated Seats, Cruise Control, Sunroof, and leather are the most desirable

As Wavey said I got bored with mine, then got it remapped at P-Torque, then it turned into a different car.

I'm not "up" on my jap cars, not sure which that is, but a friend got a new shape type r after his fabia. Only had it a few months, wasn't much quicker then his fabia (tho it was remapped), cost a fortune to run, and more to the point, wasn't anywhere near as fun. However, the seats and interior were really nice, it's looked pretty funky too. I know the older shape are a fair bit quicker and handle better, but don't know which is which lol

lol The wife went the other way and sold her 05 CTR to get her current Fabia vRS.

Have to say it's the only car to ever put a big grin on either of our faces when driving it but the average of 240-250 miles to a tank and the other little things like the fact it got so bloody annoying trying to nip into gaps in traffic etc.... in wet weather prompted it's sale. :smirk:

We're both glad we had it but it's now a case of been there done that. Wouldn't touch the new one though compared to it's predecessor.

Cheers

Dave.

I was always a VAG lad, but I went for a test run in a load of cars, and the EP3 was the one I wanted to get back in. The new one has pretty dull steering and feels too big. The EP3 (old one) is a much better.

I would deffo have a furby vRS again without shadow of a doubt, but who knows, the way these insurance prices are going up, as well as everything else, I might stick with it. :smirk:

I want something more reliable...

I had a jdm ep3 going back about 5 years ago. Its the only car I ever regret selling. Some people dont like them as they are 'drivers' cars....you need to know how to drive them properly to get the most out of them. I fitted a jackson racing supercharger to mine and the k-pro ecu, along with all the usual like toda manifold and spoon exhaust etc....The car was stupid fast. vtec at 3000rpm was amazing.

I had to get another, needed something which does over 20mpg

Don't take it the wrong way, I'm not some fan boy that thinks the fabia is quicker than every other car. But when he turned up in it, even the jap lads were kinda slating it as being a backwards step.

Anyway back OT, I love my fabia, it's quick, plenty of scope for more power, while at the same time being cheap to run. At the moment I have no kids, so plenty of room for me and mrs chelski. There's plenty of cars I love, to the point of owning, but I don't think I'd see me getting rid of the fabia, even more so since it's worth very little now.

I eat Type R's for breakfast, it's annoying when I get stuck behind them on the motorway, have to keep flashing them out of the way...

LMAO!! Until your boost pipe pops off. Maybe until you hit a corner then he goes bye bye.

then you have to remember the type r is standard and your running 5k of kit lol...

stick a hondata k-pro on the civic then it will be bye bye hybrid

Haha the Type R debate again.

Get a Integra, we have Europe's most powerful K20 at work. 330BHP N/A

I love my (completely stock) vRS, particularly the exclusivity of the Limited Edition and will be keeping it for the forseeable. It's an awesome car.

I like the DC5 but hate the DC2. and the DC5 is too expensive.

Civic EP3 will do me fine.

Bit irresponsible really !
