New online brochure

Featured Replies

The new brochure is now showing online with the updated prices. Noticed the dealer fit options have dissapeared but the rear door film protection is now listed as standard.

Interesting, but still a very poor brochure compared with some other manufacturers (still a preponderance of LHD vehicles pictured, for instance - and if stub aerials are now standrad - at least according to another thread on this site - why does the back cover picture still show the bee-sting version? Pictured boots also appear to be still carpet-lined). At what point, I wonder, does an 'inaccuracy' become a wilfully misleading misrepresentation?

My on-order Elegance 170 4x4 with a few toys would cost me £1225 more with new prices, so ordering last summer, with a p/x price agreed then, has clearly saved me quite a lot of money. That's the (only) positive side of such a long wait to get my hands on it!

PS the accessories brochure has not been updated and still quotes prices with VAT at 17.5%.

The accuracy of the body colours shown remains a very poor representation as do the interior choices. When ordering mine I did consider the Gobi interior but the dealer did not even carry any swatches ??? - so I stuck with black ( aka Onyx.)

As you say we have at least saved some money, a small crumb of comfort for the long wait.

Thanks for the update.

Just had a quick look myself and noticed that ESP is now available on the 'E' as is a third rear headrest and the RRP on the 'S' as options.

TP

Just curious Andrew ,but my 170 Elegance/gobi Yeti, with a few extras ,was ordered 2/8/10 and ready for collection in the third week of november.Did you order the panoramic roof ,or is there another reason for the long delay? :wonder:

Hi Bassa

I hadn't realised you're replacing your Octavia. I know you'd been very pleased with it. What made you want to change?

I'm not planning to change for a while, but the Yeti will be on my shortlist too.

No - I didn't order sunroof. I ordered satnav, TPM, RRP, heated windscreen, park assist and electric drivers' seat. I'm astounded at the delay and have been given a different story every time I contact Skoda UK or the dealer: first it was the heated windscreen (but I am told replacements are immediately available in the UK!), then the 170 engine - but clearly you got yours quite quickly. Like most people, I am happy to wait for something if I feel the supplier is being upfront and honest with me and I don't think it really washes to say that the quality of iinformation from the Czech republic is poor - what are Skoda UK managers paid for? I have to take my wife's car in for service on Thursday, and her (Fiat) garage is just over the road from my Skoda dealer so I shall be popping in for a serious chat! Unfortunately, living where I do, this (nearest) dealer is 35 miles/50 minutes away so i can't keep face-to-face pressure on.

Similar (well almost identical) experience here; very happy with dealers, frustrated by SUK, who in their defence seem to be kept in the dark/misinformed by Skoda CZ!

Hopefully mine has left the factory now and may even be at Emden, so I'm wasting time looking here!

Still need to resolve RRP changes fiasco and agree 'late delivery' payment, but feel there's light at the end of the tunnel that I entered on 9th August last!

Hi Helix

Hope you are still pleased with your Octy even if it sounds as though you will also be joining the Yeti clan eventually. With the long delivery lead times you certainly have to think in advance. Mine was ordered last October and I'm still awaiting a somewhat meaninless provisional build date although I do not anticipate the car until March/April time. Mind you, they have moved the Roomy production from the Kvasiny plant to increase production on Superbs & Yetis - so you never know.

The only reason for changing is for easier access, not for me but SWMBO. Have been very pleased with my Octy and the only dissapointments on the Yeti front for me are the non availability of the 1.4 TSi with DSG, no paddleshifts, no power fold mirrors and no matching spare wheel although the latter two are no longer applicable as Octy standard fit . Still hopefully the 1.2 TSi will live up to its good reviews and there is some compensation with standard leather, Bi- xenons etc. etc.. Will have to find a suitable box to stand on for roof cleaning though :giggle:

Be interesting to hear from Octy to Yeti folk and hear their thoughts on the changeover - I'm sure it must be a fairly common move.

Its annoying to see that despite Skoda Auto describing the Yeti's sunroof as symbolising the airiness of the Yeti, that Skoda UK still aren't allowed to include it in the new Osbourned brochure.

Yes, I'm still very pleased with my Octy thanks, though I think the Yeti as a whole ticks some boxes the Octy doesn't, (wife would prefer one!) so we'd certainly be looking at the Yeti when the time comes.

However I'd hoped, rather than expected, that the new Yeti brochure might indicate a wider choice of drivetrain combinations than are currently available, which means if we did go for one, we might be having to make compromises. I do quite a lot of motorway commuting and long distance travel so my ideal would probably be a 2wd 140 CR with DSG, but I'd be happy with the 1.4tsi with DSG: unfortunately neither currently exists.

Unlike you I do very little motorway driving and very seldom do I carry more than one passenger. Also I do not live in a very hilly area so I'm hoping the downsize to the 1.2 TSi will not be a compromise too far - it is still a torquey little engine and most reviews appear very favourable towards it. Without any shadow of a doubt, I would have gone for a 1.4 TSi DSG had it been available.

I'm sure you won't find the 1.2 DSG to be too much of a compromise - we toured the hilly single track roads on West coast of Scotland in September and found it to be effortless thanks to lots of torque and smooth delivery.

You have the same problem as me! I assume Skoda only offer DSG with the 1.2 Tsi and 4 wd diesel because they can sell everything they make and aren't too bothered about customers like us. The new Kuga is due soon and with the new Kia and Sportage crossovers plus the Vauxhall Antara crossover imminent then the market for crossovers is going to become a lot more competitive in 2011. I expect that when demand for the Yeti slackens then you will find that DSG versions of the 1.4 TSI and 2 wd diesels will suddenly become available!

Having had a quick look through the new brochure I see that Rosso Brunello has been added as an available colour.

Interesting that BIK costs (for the benefit of Company Car drivers) are now being quotes, which had not previously been listed in the brochure.

Let's hope so! i've nothing against 4x4 but I don't need it. And I would like to see wider DSG combinations as I've got so used to it on my Octy.

Many Yeti competitors already offer their more powerful engines with 2wd. Though a wide range of auto combos are harder to come by, I notice the Kuga mates an auto with most of its variants (notwithstanding the Kuga has a more limited engine range, is pricier and arguably less practical than the Yeti!).

On the other hand, the Yeti is unusual in offering the choice of good value, efficient and relatively inexpensive smaller/lower power engines.
