Hi there!

Just wanted to introduce myself as the now proud owner of a 2004 Octavia Laurin and Klement 1.9tdi estate.

Best wishes to you lot and I look forward to reading loads of related tech (and non tech) stuff in the years to come. I'm planning to keep this motor for a while baring any serious mishaps.

To date it's been great (only done 400miles in it thou ;-))

Prior to this I had an Audi 80tdi estate so it's a pretty good late model replacement for that I think.

I couldn't stretch to an A4 at the mileage and age I wanted so the Octavia was the more realistic choice in the end. I've got a couple of pals with these motors but neither has the L+H spec!

Catch up soon.

Cheers

Hello and Welcome to Briskoda... emoticon-0128-hi.gif

Hi and welcome aboard.

Hi Ella's Dad

My son worked for a Skoda dealer up in Glasgow in 2003 and came home with this car and asked if I was interested as it was an area managers car and had done 12k miles in the first year. The minute I saw it and looked at the spec I bought it there and then ,it was the L&k silver 1.9 tdi octavia estate, light tan leather seats ,fancy allows you know the full spec .I ran the car for 7 years the longest I have ever had any car ,my son now drives it he has had it almost 2 years and it has just clocked up 100k miles not a lot I know .

It is without doubt the most reliable car I have ever owned and has only let me down once and that was in the dead of winter one year with injector problem .I do not want to sound like I am braging but I have owned just about every prestige car around in my 48 years of driving ,at present I have a MB and a Porsche and still find whenever I drive the Skoda it is still very enjoyable.I was going to buy a new Superb estate but as I am semi retired could not justify the cost as I used the last one for business as well as pleasure .I test drove the new Fabia VRS yesterday and was very impressed apart from the seating position I feel the squab is a little to long and catches the back of my leg and the ride a tad firm on low profile tyres I have still to see if I can get a better deal than the one given.

Hope you have many happy miles in your new car.
