VRS - Heated mirrors not working - fuse to check first?

Featured Replies

Noticed my heated mirrors (both) dont seem to be working when I flick the switch round - got to work and the mirrors felt cold with water drops still on them, where are the fuses on these things? If it aint a fuse trip to local garage me thinks.

Good question as I could find nothing in the manual that indicated what fuse was the one for the heated mirrors; so I'd like to know if anyone has this info.

I also think that the mirrors when set to the heating position, have some timer - and that they switch off after a period of time which would explain them being cold when you tried them. Again can't find this in the manual - anyone else got a theory on this? It would help with the comments some have raised on here that leaving the switch in the heating position permanently is not a good idea.

Any thoughts?

ditto. My mirrors are not clearing in the cold mornings. What fuse to check?

With continual pushing mirrrors towards window when finished using car, broke a little wire to heated offside mirror, didn't look for any blown fuse, so I'm still in the dark which fuse it is?

Some more information in this previous topic:

Some of the information is contradictory but implies that the way it works depends on the model year.

I believe there is no dedicated fuse as control is via an electronic control module, perhaps in the driver's door.

Personally I would first disconnect the control switch and check all contacts with a multimeter to eliminate the most likely cause.
