WRC ?

Featured Replies

There appears to be a WRC for sale on ebay, where the owner doesn't know it's a WRC.... quote from listing "NEVER SEEN ANOTHER WHITE ONE WITH THE WRC SPOILER ON BEFOR OR IN WHITE"

I assume it's real because it's white and 2002 with the rear spoiler but doesn't seem to have Xenons. I'm not that clued up on WRC's TBH so might be of interest if your after one.

i also spotted this the other day, a wrc should have a plaque on the dash somewhere with a number on it.

also should have xenons with headlight washers as standard on a wrc.

i thought it could be an ex police car that someones put the wrc spoiler on?

Good find there and look very clean and up together. A good buy for someone if this goes cheap as the guy does not know it is a Ltd version.

Could be ex plod but looks too straight and nearly always there is some sign of the County battenberg pattern, unless it's been resprayed.

He doesn't appear to know it's a WRC so I doubt he would know the significance of the number

I find it is weird that he doesnt have any interior pics. Instead he has a picture of the turbo part of the engine cover?

If it is explod it would be nice to see how many holes are actually in the dash and how worn the seats are.

i've just msg'd him for more details

Curious now - its on pistonheads.com @ £2800 minus personal plate it says. Having done a search for 2002 Skoda Octavia VRS's there , no 91 is up for sale too , with the full sticker kit and Xenons / headlamp wash @£3k. Briskoda member too.

@DBP - agreed, saw the mess made when fitting all the radio kit, back when I worked for the Police.

That one don't look like a wrc. They have white bump strips, and as someone else has said, they have xenons and headlight washers, which that one doesn't.

Looks like an ex plod which someone has put a wrc spoiler on and painted the wheels white.

also no car came with a wrc ebay special on lol

wrc cars came with standard spoilers

its an ex old bill car

has wrong lighhts no headlight washers etc etc

I was just thinking "I'm sure wrc's came with a standard vrs spoiler" lol.

Oh well, it looks ok anyway, even as a normal vrs, could do with some new exhaust hangers though..

The WRC's also had heated seats and xenon's I'm sure!

And ESP

Probably right there Clive, but who is to say he did not replace the std spoiler for a WRC rep one as a few members have now...... yours truely did.... .

P.S it is this one on pistonheads.

i agree bowders could have changed it but would have been mad to remove the headlights and replace with standard and remove front bumper with headlight washers and fit standard vrs bumper lol

unless he wanted it to look like a police car lol

Unless someone has spent a fair bit of time/money downgrading the spec, then that's not a WRC. WRC's as mentioned have xenons and headlight washers, they also don't have any side bump strips. I think it's a cancelled police order/ex police. I quite like it, though :)

Like the look of that

put it through works computer and it just says its a boggo RS, 8 previous keepers though! saw it on ebay at the weekend i do quite like it

It is not a real wrc just had spoiler done have seen car and has no plac in it?????

nope it's not a WRC i asked

8 previous owners is not a good stat, regardless of how good it may look. It would make me much more conservative about it, although as per previous posts i do like it. When it comes to car paint colours, white is the new black  .

just got a reply back:

"hi mate its not an ex police car, white from the factory. its in very good condition. (100% not a police car). also it's not the wrc just a replica of one so is a standard vrs. there are others in white just rare to find."

"1st £2300 takes it"

i like it, looks good in white i must say, but that spoiler would have to go

AFAIK only white Vrs' were WRC edition and Police. This is not WRC as has door rubbing strips (unless added but why?). Also most WRC without decals retained the green tops to the fenders. Interior shot may be giveaway, and why has seller not put interior shots on ad? :wonder:

Quite low mileage too, for an ex plod car, if it is one :wonder:

But yep, 8 former keepers makes you wonder why it's been through so many hands.
