Rear hatch interior trim

Featured Replies

I intend to fit a rear view camera at the centre top of rear screen in the area kept clean by the rear wiper. I need to wire this back to the reversing light wiring and the tidy way to do this is under the trim panel and back down the rubber flexy hose. Does anybody know how easy or not this trim panel is to remove? I presume it just clips on. Is there any documentation on the location of these trim catches in any of the online manuals?

Cheers,

JP

Do you actually have the camera yet? If not try to see one in operation before committing yourself. I fitted one to my Roomster, the camera was OK but the display was useless in normal lighting. It was OK at night but that was rather restricting as I often go out in daylight.

I find the display on the Bolero perfectly satisfactory and probably better than a camera. The rear sensors cover a very wide arc behind the car and will even warn of pedestrians that intend to cross my path even before they are behind the car. Any camera with this wide angle of cover would need a fisheye lens and would be useless for judging distance.

I find the display on the Bolero perfectly satisfactory ....

Agreed. I've got front and rear sensors and compared with previous cars they and the display are much better.

I have two distinct tones set for front and rear.

More accurate when parking in the confines of the garage than the wife waving her arms about. emoticon-0146-punch.gifemoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif

i tend to agree with you both, the bolero etc gives a very good display and awareness.

it might be that the OP doesn't have bolero fitted though,

and doing the camera thing would probably be a much cheaper solution than upgrading the audio
