dont forget you need to mod your bumper for it to work properly..

bloody sexy though....

Don't need to touch the bumper just drill more holes in the right hand grill, I tried it today.

So you fitted it then?

I've been a bit unsure of these kit-on-a-stick type kits (i know what i mean!) as don't they run the risk of being soaked by puddles/spray from rain etc sitting down in the depths of the engine bay?

Really not sure about air filter these days. In the odl days there was only one option; K&N.

I like the look of this one though.

Anyone know anyhitng about these BMS filter thingies?

Cheers.

Adrian.

I'm waiting for the day when someone announces they've added a big, fat, hideous bonnet scoop... *shudder*

Bonnet scoop... no, but vents... hmmm... why not? :)

i am looking at vents as well. nothing too OTT but just enought to draw some air through the engine bay.... good for downforce as well.

This kit is stainless steel and is completely washable, no cotton, no gauze. Just undo the clip and it's off.

Nice :) Do you get much induction roar with it being tucked away?

Oh yes , more so outside the car.

and it looks almost 100 squids cheaper than the Jabba one - which only has a heat shield - no ducting or anything. So come on then - was it from IP?

sounds like it will be cheaper than my neuspeed one....

On the K&N debate I have a 57i kit on my MX5. It basically removes the entire airbox and intake arrangement and replaces it with a large conical air filter approx 8" long and 6" diameter with a cold air duct from under the front bumper. The difference is definitely worth while with an excellent induction roar and much better throttle response/pickup and slightly more power. Prior to that I had a Jackson Racing oiled foam air filter that was similar but with no cold air pickup and less effect. I've had one or the other fited for the best part of 3 years and have had no problems whatsoever. The MAF is a balanced resisitor type so I don't know how that compares with that on the Skodas but has been totally unaffected by any oil contamination.

Basically I'd say go for it but be aware that in changing the intake you're going to be messing about with the tuned length of the intake (log and large for torque/short for top end pwer), although this may not be much of a problem with FI.

Des,

Have you found any improvement in performance in the hotter weather with this fitted. Contact for IP?

Chris

I haven't got one fitted m8, not into lots of noise.

Sorry I got it wrong, have you ordered one or are you just saying it looks good?

Chris

Just looks good.

In case you haven't seen my post I'll post a link to my CAI/induction kit: Kit from JR, oiled filter

Intake sound is much louder and increased throttle response. Can't say it increased power but who cares when you can drive around town listen to the whooshing sound from the DV:D
