Is that on your fabia and did that include the VAT?, if so thats better than the £399 for the belt and pump I've been quoted by Skoda Leeds but that is for a 2.0 Octy, although I imagine the work involved is pretty similar and perhaps another £5 for a different belt.

Can I ask who you used?

For the thread, bickertons in Sheffield quoted me a lot more!

Was just quoted £399 from Robinsons Skoda in Norwich for timing belt and water pump

Got a quote from a little trustworthy garage in Norwich... £85 cash for labour, me to supply parts (GSF = about £90 belt + kit + water pump)

Overall... £399 to £180... Not too shabby!

Hi there!

I need a bit of help from my fellow Skodanians...

I'm trying to source a timing belt kit for my 2007 Octy 2.0 TDi, but here in Australia everything VAG related costs about 2 - 3 times as much. As an example, I have been quoted $1800 (£1160!!) for a replacement of the belt and pump (labour + parts)! So because of this, I would much rather source my own kit + water pump, and then just pay for the labour.. And that is my dilemma, trying to get the parts.

If anyone out there knows of a reliable website or the like that can deliver to Australia, please send me a link or information. At the moment I'm on 100,000 km's on the dial and the car is just over 4 years old, and after speaking with VAG Australia, they have recommended to have it changed at 105,000kms or 7 years.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you kindly fellow Skodanians!! :)

Cool... thanks! Good website and very handy..

I found out the stealers here can do the timing belt change for a much better price, almost half of what I was quoted earlier by a "VW mechanic", but they dont change the water pump which doesn't make sense. They did however say they will gladly fit one in for me at no extra charge, but that is if I bring in my own pump. The stealers do provide them, but they charge $124 for the pump with the plastic impeller, and they also ask for the old one in return...

I went to the eurocarparts website and they have 2 listed; KWP (£43.14) and Circoli (£31.80) - I just wanted to ask if anyone has used any of these 2? Are they plastic impeller or metal?

Any help would be great! :)

Thank you guys - appreciate it
