Well, well. There was a Skoda stand at the Outdoorshow in London this weekend (see this thread) but look at this price list next to the Yeti on the stand! It had a sunroof AND the sunroof had a price: £1050. A STEEP increase from the £870 I paid.

Nope but interesting that they went to all the trouble to work out a price for it.

I've been saying this for ages and ages now: email the SUK MD Robert Hazelwood en-bulk and demand its return. That is the only way anyone will get a sunroof in the UK.

You won't need to email Robert Hazelwood. SkodaUK are working with the factory to get it back into UK spec cars.

Great news! Now only waiting for Skoda to add the DAB radio option to the Bolero/RDC510 for the Yeti to go back on my shortlist.

The price increases are only to be expected if Skoda are to depress the demand to manage their waiting lists. It just demonstrates that Skoda are now regarded as a mainstream car manufacturer rather than the oddball East European company they were in the now-distant past.

I would have though the price increases were to do more with the euro/pound exchange rate. They have to buy lots of stuff in euros etc.

I did have a service which I was paying for in pounds, from Europe, but when the the euro/pound exchange rate went near par, they changed to charging in euros. My bill went up by 50%. I have now cancelled that service as it is no longer value for money.

Doesn't seem as though they're working very fast, then. Does Skoda UK actually have any kind of negotiating strength with Skoda CZ? Does Robert Hazelwood get a big fat bonus?

No, information seems to be coming through but very slowly. I think they are worried about not being able to satisfy demand again and are reluctant to bring it back unless they are sure they can cope with the sales. Don't want anything to make the ordering times any longer!

Well, there's a fairly well-known way of regulating sales - slap a silly price on something. Is it just me, or is this whole supply-demand situation with Yetis a rather Ailce-in-Wonderland scenario? How many businesses would give their right arms to have this level of demand? How many would then do everything under the sun(roof) to try and meet it, rather than hide their heads in the sand?

The VAT increase will also have contributed a bit, I'd have thought.

If I want a sunroof I really, really do not care if it was to add another month or two to my waiting as long as I knew of this when I ordered. Simples really... So I really don't get what they are stressing about. Sans sunroof you wait 6 months, with sunroof you wait 8. So what if people are willing to pay and will live with said car for many years beyond the waiting months. I don't get SUK. I really don't.

Well my car is still not ordered by the dealer (although he has got a deposit) as we wait for the sunroof and Claybank I gather have at least 3 others waiting!

Just hope it comes through but all this mucking about is not good and if they say we are not bringing it back I may well look at another vehicle as I had set my heart on the full spec and quite honestly I am getting fed up with the uncertainty and given notice to retire June 30th!!!!

I think I will then again stick by what I said before: Email Robert Hazelwood en masse........... I've included him in an escelated email only once and low and behold the matter was sorted the NEXT DAY after a long time of struggling!
