dump Valve for mk1 vrs

Featured Replies

Speaking to a VAG specialist, He told me the following:

Forge despite what they may tell you import the valves from china/ wherever then stamp there own logo on them and charge you an extra £50 for it.

I can't comment about the grease!

Just bought mine from eliteremaps on eBay, £35 free p&p. cheapest forge item i could find was £80.

Its in the post! will let you know when it's fitted what its like, but my standard plastic is leaking boost

Hi, have you fitted this yet, is it any good?

your one, at £34.99 one is black right?

After a rummage on ebay, it seems a few sellers sell that one, and I found a silver version a bit cheaper ( at £31.99 delivered)

Yep its in black, is brilliant - comes with 3 coloured springs for remap time B) and even fits under the standard plastic engine cover without having to spend more money!!!

Only thing to bear in mind is you will need a small (probably the smallest) jubilee clip to fit on the top smallest vacum hose as the factory one is a pig and you won't get it back on... pence though really! my friendly local garage supplied and fitted one for free!!

What colour spring that comes with the valve (red, yellow or blue)? should I be using, running about 19psi?

Nice one, glad it's good, I might buy one.

Do you think a cable tie would have done the job instead of a jubilee clip?

the ad says this;

"Each Valve comes complete with a fitting kit and spring tuning kit inc: 1x Green spring (installed) 5-15PSI, 1x Yellow spring 15-23PSI, 1x Red spring 23-30PSI & 2x Spacers enable you to fine tune the settings between two spring tensions if required."

do you think the green one may be more greeny blue!?

Is that the one fitted out the pack/box?

If so, reading the above, you need to fit the yellow one.

Or in other words, the middle strength one

Strange thing is, the red looks the weediest, the green/blue one the strongest and the yellow something inbetween.

I'm running 19psi and I've just switched to the yellow Forge spring, as I was getting some boost fluctuation with the green spring.

I bought this kit for £10 from Forge at the Autosport show: http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=0007&product=FMDVTUN

The red spring in that one is a beast!

maybe but you run the risk of a boost leak.

blue.

after 20 psi is yellow

then red.
