my 2010 VRS dosent have puddle lighting

My 08 pre facelift also does not have puddle lighting. I think it's an L&K thing. It's probably do-able as a retro fit though as the coding is possible via VCDS.

you should have both bought a superb they have puddel lights and loads of toys.bill SORRY

Yes the puddle lights in the door mirrors are an L&K thing. It has been discussed on here before about retrofitting and I don't think it is feasible/possible as not only do you have to find two door mirrors with the puddle lights fitted but you will have to put in extra wiring to the mirrors to get the power to them. IIRC the vRS and L&K have slightly different wiring looms

They are also fitted to the Elegance.

Puddle light equipped mirrors have three wires to them (red, black and white), non puddle

Iight mirrors only have 2 wires for the LED repeaters - black and white IIRC. Does the Scout have them?

Scout Has Them

Scout TDI - build May 2010

And if it is a L&K with the dimming wing mirrors there is probably another wire for that as well.

Wires for auto dimmimg, heating, adjustment, puddle lights and LED repeaters. Not a good thing when they get clipped by another car :wonder:

My my 07 VRS came with the puddle lights as a package with the dimmable outside mirrors.

Dont know whether these are orderable in the UK.

Our UK spec 2007 vRS couldn't be ordered with puddle lights or dimming mirrors.

May 2010 Elegance - it has got puddle lights. Though not mentioned in the brochure. My car was delivered about the time they were deleting the folding mirrors on Elegance (on my car the mirrors don't fold) so maybe that's when the puddle lights were introduced.

No Elegance spec has had them ages. They were on my 57 plate.

My ,admittedly facelift Elegance, has all the power features mentioned above.

Mirror was clipped which meant a very expensive insurance repair job (~£500) as the main pivot moulding was broken along with the external casing and glass.I did look for on line cheapos but nothing for the FL.

Thanks for the FL pic. They look more obvious with the new wing mirror design.

My MY05 Elegance has them :)

On the pre FL version it was easier to replace the std bulbs with LEDs. emoticon-0103-cool.gif

The pic is crap, shot at night with my mobile phone.

Always difficult to photograph light Mike :)

Remind me, are they W5W in the pre-FL puddles?

Yep, W5W axial LEDs were built in mine.

Still have those lying around. emoticon-0105-wink.gif

The facelifted ones will need the radial LEDs. Fitting these is more of a hassle. But it can be done without taking the glass out and taking the cover off. Need pliers for that and a steady hand.
