Dial lights flickering

Featured Replies

as title.......

The little lights behind my heater, fan, A/C switches etc is flickering now and again. Any solutions?

Thanks

There are many other threads about this.

Put < fabia flickering > into the green search box.

My opinion is that it appears to be the first signs of a dying battery if there are no other issues. The problem with my car, except when it's VERY cold, is that it's working absolutely fine otherwise, starting instantly every time, steering fine, etc etc. I'm really reluctant to spend around £80-£100 changing the battery just because the dashboard lights are flickering...

I've just found your other topic which includes this issue - http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/186133-weird-goings-on-with-my-fabia/ - you say most of the problems have now gone away - but it's now somewhat warmer - certainly sounds like a battery issue.

Thanks, Yes....very annoying. Tho I have been out and about this past few days with my radio off(aftermarket Sony headunit) and the problems don't seem to happen as often when it's off. Can a radio cause any strange goings on?

I have had some flickering of the same lights, but only when I turn the heater direction knob on the right hand side of the pannel on my Octavia Greenline 2, 2011 reg, 18k miles. Like lots of tricky faults, it only happens from time to time! Battery is good, but the weather is cold. Any thoughts?

As you can see on another topic - Replacing the battery on a late Mark 1 Fabia vRS - I replaced my battery but the flickering instrument light issue never really went away and now the cold weather's returned it's back. It only lasts several seconds and once I've turned the car and driven out of the drive they're back to normal, but it's still annoying that it's happpening.

So back to square one really...
