vRS 0-60 time

Featured Replies

the clio cup 180 was blueprinted as well iirc from renault, the engines were bench tested as well to make sure they produced the claimed 180ps or about 176bhp

one of the lads in the RSC has his 16v clio engine rebuilt and blueprinted and with a chip, induction kit and full exhaust his made around 170bhp which isnt bad for a 1.8 engine that runs 134bhp as standard. he might have ran cams as well but i dont think he did. it was stripped out and went really well on the 1/4 mile.

Can anyone remind me why it is 7.9 for 0-62 as opposed to 0-60

0-62mph = 0-100 Kph, as most European markets now run in Kph, think it is just a way to standardise the results

What about 0-60 & max speed for remaped octy?

0-60, a bit quicker

Top speed, a bit more

Happy to help

You guys have to remember that the Octavia is quite a light car, and the fact the vRS holds 180bhp says alot. Yes, there is quite a lot of wheelspin, it can spin at 80kmph, but in a friend's black & lowered Tavia vRS here, we went for a spin and I managed to clocl 6.8 secs for it. There is absolutely NO way the Tavia vRS does 0-60 in more than 7 seconds, I have driven 5.5 second cars and 7 - 7.9 second cars, so I know what they feel like. The Octavia is f***kin' FAST.

What did you measure the time with, out of interest? In independent Briskoda tests, measured with a performance meter, very few people have got close to 7, let alone below...

< cough >
