BMW M Coupe

Featured Replies

Recently have found myself lusting after one of these, having previously loathed the reliant-scimitar style roofline. Can't get away from the fact that it is a fast b*gger, and I love the flared arches at the back. Anyone ever owned/ driven one?

i know chrisR has on here... (dad) but when we had it it was sooo good and dad was even thinging about getting another one at some point he loved it and the straight six roars and humms.

My Dad has one and I get to drive it now and again (I'm thinking of having it off him in a couple years). Whaddya wanna know?

A friend of mine had an M3 evo, 330 bhp as standard wow! It certianly shifted. Is it the same engine in Batmobile?

Ok here's the stats:

E36 M3 has 286 bhp

E36 M3 Evo 321 bhp

E46 M3 hs 343 bhp

E36/7 M-coupe has either E36 M3 Evo engine in or E46 M3 engine* in, depending on year.

* The E46 M3 engine produced 325 bhp in the M-coupe due to different exhaust routing

Funnily enough....No! It's his baby!

The big question would be if he loves it enough to sell it to me?

All I can say is go for it. I had one from new on an S plate in Imola red with red and black leather interior, it went like stink, had that lovely turbine smooth straight six, revved and revved. 2 seater but boot was quite large, the labrador was more than happy with the space. Only draw backs was the steering could be vague around dead centre, required too many turns lock to lock and the early cars had no form of traction control which could cause a few "brown" moments. (Sideways in third gear if you are not careful) These cars are IMHO going to be a future classic as there were not many made. Prices are pretty good as well at the moment.

Knew it was low, did not realise it was that low. Very tempted too start looking again trouble is SWMBO might take offence to a 5th car arriving on the drive..........just don't tell her about the yacht arriving in March
