I had one job to do tonight that I thought would be fiddly but easy ....

Both my number plate lights have gone but the screws are rusted so cannot get them off at all ....so bought new bulbs and surrounds

come to do it tonight , did the first one fine no issues , came to do the second one , and for starters the holder for the bulb went into the boot lid!??????? .....then....when trying to get it out i blew the fuse for the no plate lights .......thing is i havent got a clue where to look for what fuse? my last car had a card in telling you what was for what but this one hasnt ?

anyone help me with these two things as guess what MOT IS DUE TOMOZ.........TYPICAL

1) what fuse is the no plate lights

2) how on earth do i get the number plate light back into the hole it should be in

car is skoda hatch vrs

It just pops off..

And it "should" pop back on!!!... You'll enjoy that bit!

Hoho, the old boot panel, try doing that yourself! Youll get it back on eventually, but will it rattle, thats the acid test.

This is known as the 'Disappearing light holder trick'

Remove one screw. Loosen the other screw and move the lens so you can twist the first screw back in. Remove the other screw, take off the lens and put that screw back in. You can now change the bulb without fear of losing the holder.

Reverse the process to put the lens back on.Bulb.

Not sure if that trick works on the estate, when I changed mine, I don't recall their being any screw holes in the light holder (my father poked one of mine and it vanished so I had to pull the trim off to rescue it!)
