Replacing Console Bushes - also replace Wishbone bushes?

Featured Replies

I've got a set of Console bushes from here: http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1285

I've going to use the Console bush fitting guide to help me fit the bushes: http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/92625-fabia-wishbone-bush-replacement-diy-guide/

However, on the guide he fits new wishbone bushes - is this necessary?

Do most people that fit new console bushes replace the wishbone bushes? Are they susceptible to wear as much as the console ones.

Any feedback is always appreciated - Cheers.

i didnt, mines a 53 plate with 70k on the clock, they were still like new so no point

Ok, now I got confused again... (non-native English speaker)

Looking at this photo:

It is item 2 which is prone to fail, right? Which people then often replace with Powerflex or Seat Ibiza Cupra bushes?

Which of the above is it that you and others are refering to as "console bushes"?

Hi Zby

Yes it is item 2 that fails, and as you say these are often replaced with the Seat Cupra Bushes, but Skoda has updated there own bushes, and are

better than the old versions.

The Powerflex bushes are Item 1 (as shown in the diagram) but from what I have read these very rarely wear so no need to replace unless needed !

Ps I have bought some of the Skoda ones and they look a lot better than the old ones.
