Does anyone know the part number for Item 2 in this picture?

...for an ASZ engine. Based on my VIN, TPS sold me this:

...but it's about 1/2" too small in diameter, because of the groove it sits in, it's not as though I can just stretch it a little to make it fit!

Any suggestions gratefully received, while my flanged connection gently weeps...

I could also do with knowing if there's any special spec for the Allen bolts (Item 5). I managed to drop the one round the back, so have one (same length and thread diameter, but a 5mm head instead of a 4mm one) from my old mountain bike toolkit in there ATM...

(PS: It's definitely the connection that's weeping, and not either of the EGR breather holes - I've smeared a bit of grease over the old O-ring for now to make a bit of a better seal, but I'd like to replace it if I can!)

i got rid of the allen heads in favour for some m6 bolts :)

no specific spec required, they were 8.8 tensile....

as for the rubber seal can't you just stick a bit of gasket seal on and clamp it up with bolts?

I've been working with the car on the ground so I can split the EGR and the turbo, but not the EGR and the EGR pipe. There's just enough space to get an O-ring in or out, but I don't think there's room to make a nice bead of sealant. Worth considering if I get stuck, though - thanks for the idea!

Can't see what's in the bag, but the part number is correct. The o-ring should be 55X3. IIRC, if you look in the groove where the o-ring sits, there are small lugs to hold it in place.

Must have been mis-picked, as it was less than 55mm across...

Big shout out to ALLARD, who sorted me out with the correct O-ring!

Got the tapemeasure out, and the 'N 905 216 04' TPS supplied was indeed 55x3 as rwbaldwin had indicated. Googling N 905 216 04 only shows it listed against the ALH engine, however. The Seat and VW dealers near me also came up with a part the same size. :wonder:

So, from left to right, we have the old O-ring, the one Allard supplied, and N 905 216 04:

And if we put the old one and the Allard one side-on, we can see why I needed a new one!!! :giggle:

The Allard O-ring is 65x3, and is clearly a much closer match to the knackered one I removed. I haven't driven the car yet to tell if the joint is still weeping, but it stayed nicely in place in the groove on the face of the EGR, and sat a little proud of it to mate with the face of the turbo. On that basis, I reckon it's the correct part, and I can only assume the listing on ETKA is wrong. BUT, knowing the correct size, you can get a replacement from somewhere any online hydraulics supplier (or even Allard!) for a fraction of the cost from elsewhere. :)
