09-Cent.Elect. won't open...

Hey Guys,

I have facelifted octavia from 2009 and i wanted to open 09-Cent.Elect. controller with VCDS interface 912.x i think... My friend wanted to open the same controller with 10.63, but it says does not responding... or connection error. At the same time, nothing plugged-in/out/stopped/started, it works with the other controllers and menus from the VAG software.

Can anybody tell us why this is happening? Bad interface cables or software? What else?

Thanks in advance!

Kindly Regards

HI,

Any interface with a version number on is such as 912.x is not genuine so I wouldn't expect it to work with any reliability. Is your friend using a genuine Ross-Tech MIcro-CAN or HEX-USB+CAN interface? If so, post the Auto-Scan from the car so we can see what is communicating.

Hi,

Ahaa... The problem is in the cable as i thought... :) But which are genuine and where i can buy one for my car (skoda octavia 2 facelift 2009)? Thanks in advance!

PS: Everything else works, but not good. I changed the pulses of the navigation lights from 3 to 5 and after two weeks it became again 3 times??? Like value was restored... this is unacceptable.

The Genuine product can be purchased directly from us or any of our Authorized Distributors:

http://www.ross-tech.com/distributors.html

http://www.ross-tech.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=VAGCOM

Micro-CAN or HEX-USB+CAN will work on a CAN car like the Octavia 2.

http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/applications/index.html Also see the Rest of World .pdf linked at the bottom.

The Micro-CAN will not work on older cars that don't use CAN or some of most of the Audi models, but it is less money:

http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/Micro-CAN.html

The HEX-USB+CAN will work on all VAG vehicles forward and backwards compatible, but you pay more for it:

http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/hex-usb+can.html

I will note, if the knock off lead made a change and the comfort flashing turns changed back...that sounds like the car did that. If you made other coding changes that specific adaptation may have resorted to default. Either way, the genuine product is a good start and you can update to the current software when we have updates available. ( You won't be stuck using cracked SW from 2009)
