vRS Number Plate

Featured Replies

Had a look on the DVLA and quite a few plates with VRS in them for not that much money - somewhere between 250 and 400 quid.

Is anyone thinking about this ?

Just wondered.

buy something else. the front and back of your car already says skoda fabia vrs. why advertise your car again?

Suggest get car chipped ( around £300- £350)

after checking with insurance company for possible increase according to age etc.??

There have been a couple of people who have put these on their cars, but its all down to personal choice.

The prices you are seeing on DVLA are their std prices for plate purchase, as when I was looking for my plate the price seemed to depend on the expected popularity of the letters & numbers that go with the desired vrs suffix.

You will find that any discussion around personalised plates on here will give a range of views between the 2 extreems of love & hate emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

I had J666 VRS on a couple of cars and loved it :)

IMO the whole point in getting a personalised registration is for it to be something to do with yourself, name, initials etc

Check out the X5 brigade with the X5 plates.

Mind you, when Vauxhall Cavaliers were about you could buy a lovely rear window sticker 4 feet wide that said, wait for it, Cavalier!

Sometimes more isnt more.

And well done to whoever has already got MK11 VRS. That's already been reserved.

LOL probably wont bother then but hard to get my initials as no middle name so PB something hard to find..... :'(

My initials are near impossible to find, well, I want STU on a numberplate somewhere, but you can imagine how expensive they are :)

i was going to by a private plate about 450 quid until my mate told me about the the dvla so i rang them got it for 250 quid all in had it years

Each to their own I guess. I have 2 private plates, 1 fun one and 1 with my initials. Guess a VRS plate would look good but feel inclined that I wouldn't invest too much cash into a car model derived plate unles you were going to stick to that model for a long time or you are willing to let the plate go with the car should you change brands. I've seen a few cars such as BMW X5's with 'M3' plates and vice versa which tend to look a bit odd!!

Hey - I've got an M3 plate on a Mk1 Fabia!

I have bought myself a plate with VRS as the suffix for my impending summer arrival. Personally, I think its a bit of fun without going too overboard on a really expensive plate. It's my initials followed by 11 VRS. Not everyone's cup of tea I know, but I like it

Why, because the car looks like it was made in 1989 ? ;)

Ahh its a BMW thing, I thought it was from the Jessica Alba series "Dark Angel"

Doesnt seem quite as cool now.

My view on plates is do whatever brings a smile to your face mate. I only think they look naff when people start messing around with spacers etc to contort numbers into letters etc.

Guy on the Renault forums waited up all night to get in early last year and bag himself CL10 CUP which i thought was B)

Mine came with the VRS plate when i bought it. It also had all those awful S2000 Decals all over it. Needless to say all the decals have been removed other than the white roof.

Something to consider is the onward cost of the plate. Retention currently costs £105 and I think a straight transfer is now about £80 so bear that in mind as something extra to fork out when you move it on to your next car!

Put mine on last weekend, but it's my initials and has followed me around through a variety of vehicles and I like it. I did venture into looking for P3TER but at £30k I couldn't quite stretch to it! That was a few years ago mind and I imagine it has increased significantly in value since then!

I struggled getting a decent initial or name related plate so I took the plunge..
