Window Tinting

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am looking to have the windows on my Yeti tinted as the S does not come with tinted windows.

I am wondering whether any one used one before and would recommend around the Durham/Newcastle/Middlesborough area?

I was looking at a Group Buy thread and Pentagon is doing it for £195 + VAT, that only includes the back, however I want the back and front windows (lightly) tinted as during the summer, I found the cabin quite hot and it took the air conditioning sometime to get cool.

I am not exactly sure how much I should be paying for tinting? WOuld appreciate any replies.

Thanks!

thats very expensive !!

also you will not be able to tint the front even a light tint as they are already on the limit of being illegal and the police are clamping down on this 3 points and £60 fine and told to remove them there and then !!!!!!!!!!!!

most manufactors windowns are around the 70% wich is the legal limit

i fitted very light tints on mine and they cam in at 35%

rear limo tint came in at 8% lol

to do rear windows should be around the £100 mark

I think that's a very reasonable price. I've used One of two local Pentagon franchises for my last four cars and the quality of work as well as the quality of the films are very good.

This photo should give you an idea what mine looks like with the dark tint on the rear and the lightest tint on the front. I've done the same with all previous cars and never had any sort of issue with the police. It is, as said, illegal to further tint the front windows, effectively anywhere forward of the b-pillar.

I was thinking of doing something similar, but using the Skoda sun blinds. They would also serve to act as curtains in that they would absorb some of the sound in the car and helpfully make the car quieter inside.

Custom Tint - Team Valley - did my last two cars - no problems at all and was given good service. - last price was £210 for my Kia Sorento (Rear Doors, Quarter's and Rear Screen in Limo) and my In-Law's Kia Cee'd Estate was around £175 (Same thing, in Dark Smoke)

But they are a professional company, so WILL NOT tint your front side windows, as it is illegal.

Also, Durham police are **** hot on tint's, with every traffic unit carrying a light meter.

That looks very neat, and it incorporates the pillar well. What tint would that be (80% etc?)

That would be another option, however the problem is that they are fitted behind the windows, which means whilst they provide good light insulation whilst the window is open, it wouldn't allow you to easily pass things in and out of the cabin when its up.

Thanks westallc and ukcruiser, will ring around to see what the could offer. I don't mind paying a little more if they could do an excellent job.
