I already have a slight problem regarding the Xenons according to John there replaced both light units as i wasn't happy with them misting up anyway..

Tonight coming home from my mums in Glasgow the beam is pointing to the sky literally, i must have got flashed 5-6 times including some idiot who sat in front of me with his fogs on then as i over took him he sat behind with his full beam on, anyhow..

I have only noticed the beams move down and up once when i switched on i assume this should happen all the time as i switch them on and it should move when driving? To me they havent been aligned properly orrrr.... the self levelling mechanism's are working for some reason which would be odd in two brand new xenon units any input would be gratefully received.

Not the best of pics grabbed a quick and blurry pic before dinner.

Updated pics after a quick foam wash.

Is it possible you both have the same fault in which case perhaps he was trying to tell you something !!!!!!!!!!!

The xenons only self level once when switched on, to me it sounds like the dealer has not put them back into the car correctly. To change the bulbs the entire headlamp unit needs to be removed from the car. thats assuming that these are the same headlights but with different bulbs, if not they have no aligned them very well.

So should they self level everytime they are switched on?? As it didnt do it a few times last night until later on thats when i noticed the beam move.

They replaced the whole units bulbs, case the lot as its all new and clean lol, i dont think they have plugged it into the computer to re align them my self.

perhaps the whole light unit isnt quite fitted right, try pulling out the little "hook" at the bottom-front of the lights and undoing the nut at the back that holds the unit on and re-seating it?

I think i will try that mate

When I collected my Scout I was getting flashed regularly at night on unlit roads.

Strange I thought as the car was previously registered to Skoda UK as one of their management cars.

Anyhow took it back and they realigned the xenon's... been perfect ever since.

Its booked into Newmaket Skoda in Stirling on Wednesday for a re-alignment of the lights.

Yep, that should sort it :)

A fairly high number aren't setup properly, probably from new.... :dull:

Looks braw - I am getting mine later on today too!

Looks braw

You might need to translate that, for those south of the border! Luckily I'm bi-lingual ;)

"fine or excellent, esp in appearance or dress"

Very nice, I wish that my car had been fitted with that stereo, I have the older unit.

I occasionally get other motorists flashing me when my xenons are on but I usually ignore them as I don't see any issue with the alignment.

Still worth getting them checked at an MoT station, that they're within the correct guidelines. Just so you know for sure. With any adjustment sorted, they also perform a lot better too, as they're aimed at the right part of the road

Yeh instead of mine aimed at the sky airplanes love it lol

I think most people, some dealers included, think because they're xenons they're magic and can do amazing things including NEVER being out of alignment!

I once had one dealer tell me that they couldn't be adjusted, and that they'd ALWAYS be at the right level... :S :dull:

Thats just nonsense.

I'm not sure if there is something wrong with them as the lights when you first switch them on dont go down then up again everytime it happens every 4-5th switch on of the lights its odd i was under the impression they do it all the time.

Looking good mate.
