this is a really weird one.....

every couple of days out of the exhaust of my felica, i pull out what can only be described as a wig !!!!

its weird,when it first started happening i thought somehow a cat or something had got stuck in the car i was mortified but on closer inspection its black synthetic hair stuff,i pull handfuls out every couple of days , there is no smell to the car and the hair stuff is really long.just when i think it has stopped it starts again,been going on since before xmas........ :(

It's whats used inside your exhaust for sound and maybe filteration. Sounds like you need a new backbox.

It's the baffle material as said above..

You'll probably find your exhaust sounds like its blowing at some point soon when more and more comes out.

Best way to solve it would be a replacement rear silencer.

It's the inside of your back box that's all. Nothing to really worry about. Your car has just gained a tail that's all. When it starts blowing replace it.

I was following a car on a dual carriange way last year with aout 15-20m of the stuff trailing behind him!

Get it sorted as it can cause some drivers to panic & swerve.

Has this on my mums old clio, we pulled loads and loads out, keept going on for months, could pull meters out at a time car seemed fine, eventually car was crashed.

BORAT ONCE OWNED A FABIA AND THE BACK BOX WAS FILLED WITH HAIR FROM THE PUBIS...MAYBE ITS HIS.

Seriously, it ain't the cat.. as that is either a ceramic core matrix or stainless steel matrix.. and if they "go" you get a nice rattle!! So defo the internal sound deadening (exhaust wadding) from the backbox!

yeah defo wont be the cat . the back boxes use horse hair . advise replacing exhaust as it will be restricting the system.
