When were the PD engines in VW's introduced?

I'm thinking of looking at a 1998S Passat which is a PD115 BHP. Didn't think they came out that early.

(Then it's off to Jabba!!!!)

AFAIK, yes, the 115bhp one was a PD - the 90bhp and 110bhp versions weren't (these two are the ones found in the Octavia).

Now I come to think of it, I think the 115 was the first PD engines, and from that they developed the 130, 150 and 160...

Your right Rob, the 115 was the first, appeared in the Audi A4 and Passat in around 1998 iirc.

Is there a list somewhere of all the cars that have used the 130+ PD engines?
