Radio Removal Yeti

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am thinking about installing Bolero to my car, however I am wondering what I would need to do if the Bolero came out of a Octavia, but the owner didn't retrieve the code then, would I still be able to use that second hand Bolero on my car if I go to the dealer to have it sorted, or would I need the original owner's car to decode the Bolero?

Secondly, any idea how much that would cost to decode or would a specialist be able to do that?

Thanks!!

You need the serial number of the Bolero and the reg number of the vehicle it was fitted to in the factory.

Then Skoda Dealer can get you the code... or so they have told me. :)

Slightly different I know but I got a second hand radio CD for my sons Fabia I from an on-line scrap yard with no code. Took it (and receipt of purchase) to my dealer who fitted and coded it in using their VAGCOM without issue; took less than 10 minutes and best of all no charge :) Sadly dealership has since been taken over and most of the helpful staff have moved on emoticon-0106-crying.gif

Thanks very much for the speedy reply!

In that case, I will probably ask the dealer what I could do, and not install it yet.

Thanks!

Hi there, just a quick update, just won the item I was looking at on Ebay.

Comes with Ipod cable, Bolero (3 months old, upgraded to Colombus) and Parrot CK3100, and it comes with a Octavia facia.

Great - should be with me in a couple of days!

Thanks for all your help!

I have been searching for Yeti Radio Removal on the search box above but didn't seem to be able to get any useful results.

Sorry to trouble you TP, would you have a schematics for that by any chance? I would really appreciate it.

My main concern now is whether all that kit (Dension thing and Parrot Box) could fit behind the console or whether I need to find extra space else where.

Thanks!

It is very easy, but you do need a torx driver, can't remember what size - T20 T25? something like that.

You gentry prise the central black plastic trim out, mine came off very easily. I started at the bottom.

Then you undo 4 screws, remove radio. & unplug.

You may have to but a new black plastic trim to go around the bolero it it is a different size to the stream. Cost about £20ish.

Time to do....about 5 minutes if you are slow.....

Just spoke to the dealer, they will look into it, hopefully the info. I provided them is enough to unlock the Bolero (original purchase invoice etc)
