Wiper Blades

Help!

Might seem a bit basic, but does anyone know the best place to get replacement blades from?

I got some from wiperblades.co.uk - which were reviewed and rated quite highly in the autotrader website, but they've started squeaking really badly recently. Clean windscreen or not, they are getting worse. Just had a service last week and the garage said they didn't think they were the right ones for the car, although it was the ones recommended for a skoda octavia!.

I would go to my local dealer who I bought the car from, but they are no longer their!!.

Does anyone know the best place to get official or best replacements from?

Regards

The bosch part no is 21/19AS iirc.

the passenger one isn't straight, but curvs a bit. normal straight ones will catch on the window frame.

got mine from ebay.

Might be worth checking your windscreen in nice and clean, and the same applies to the blades too. That can cure squeaks and improve wiping performance too.

IME "squeaking blades" are often a symptom of a very clean windscreen, particularly if you're using to fast a speed for the level of rain.

I use Champion silicone blades, which have always been great. Just remember that the front blades aren't equal length, and fitting the longer size on each side will cause one to snag.

Ive got mine from Halfords but i do have a trade card so i get them cheaper

Gsf number 939vg0230 £16.14 on briskoda discount including vat for bosch stock ones or 939aa0100 for retro aero's at £22.74 all in and these are what i put on and there pretty good i think

Excellent stuff. Cheers for the responses.

Like Mbames said earlier I think you will cure the problem by giving the blades a good clean.

This might make me sound really silly but I bought these today and had a quick look at them and I'm a bit unsure as to which way up they go lol from the quick look I had in the dark it looks like the curved passenger one curves down (like an unhappy face lol) and the drivers one fits with the spoiler facing up looking at the angle of the clips? Lol I would have thought they would fit the other way up, it's probably me being silly as it was dark out lol

Yeah I found that. I just reversed the clips so that the spoiler is pointing downwards and the curved one is a smiley face :D

Maybe they're designed for LHD cars.

Thought I was going mad, didn't think about left hand drive cars lol. I'll just reverse the clips too when I get round to fitting them , thanks :-)
