grinding rear brakes on vrs

Featured Replies

anyone know how i can stop my vrs rear brakes grinding, before anyone asks brakes are not worn, just so noisy.

Mine did this - handbrake left on for a few days left a pad shaped load of crud on the disc. I put it down to dust being compacted..

All I did to fix, was drive for a while dragging handbrake, or main brakes. Then I replaced all discs & pads and the problem went away!

I had exactly the same issue the other week along with droning when setting off. Took out the pads roughed them up a bit and put back in. Noise is now gone.

Still drones from the back when setting off though grrr!

The drone could be 'mooing'. Shame our car's out of warranty, as you could have had a set of these fitted FOC:

As for stopping it from happening in the future, bedding them in as described here:

...can be a great help!
