What a bunch of teasers. Telling us of the change but not giving a view of it. Can they keep it a secret until the show begins?

There will be a press release any day now I'm sure...

Just in time for all those white worm sufferers. :giggle:

Yes like the new winged arrow and the concept car, although I'm not so sure on the rear lines as yet.

TP

i think the car looks like a ford focus

The Ford Focus is like all Fords over designed with too many creases and lines to make it too busy. This is a far simpler, cleaner design. I like it. I also like the simpler nose and how the bonnet drops into the grille with the logo in it.

By the way the entire Skoda World website has also got the new logo on it already as well.

Some more pics of the next Octy from AE, could this be the next badge ?

Today, Skoda UK are using the new logo / badge on their facebook page - and are also asking for comments. It is green "turkey" on white background with chrome coloured rim - like the photo above but green turkey and a white background ??? I have asked the question on their facebook "comment" facility as to which is correct

Oh dear NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I replied to the Facebook page stating that I'm confused with the silver logo on the car and then the green logo with the white background and asked which is the real deal that will go on cars. Well here is the answer:

Skoda UK wrote "Hi Johann, how is the Yeti? The production cars have the new style badge as per the image on the left of the page. Some of the concept cars for stylistic purposes have got the silver badging."

Lovely! YUCK! A WHITE badge!?!?!? It will look AWFUL. Mike Elsie will look smart since she IS white but on a black car?!

I saw that too on Facebook this morning. I wonder if the badges on the cars are going to be white or if they background on the badge will match the bodywork on the car perhaps?

Guess we won't know until we get the first ones in the UK with the new badges, although I suspect photographs will appear very quickly of the new badge on a new Skoda somewhere on the interweb!

"Some of the concept cars for stylistic purposes have got the silver badging."

That statement above from Skoda is in effect an admission that the new badge is NOT stylistic enough.

I think it is just to match the light and bright colours on the concept cars and to get people talking about it.

Also having read what Skoda have sent us about the new logo, the new logo won't go onto the badges of the new cars until 2012. But the new brand logo will be phased into the retailers soon.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new logo outside the showroom!

Here is the official word from proper Skoda (ie. not Skoda UK):

The logo on ŠKODA cars is set to change from 2012. The design concept presented in Geneva offers a glimpse of the future. The new logo, positioned on the shaped front edge of the bonnet and on the rear of the car, will be designed in a combination of black and chrome. The winged arrow will be rendered more precisely and will be chrome instead of green. The round emblem, in the middle of which the arrow is located, has a chrome finish. The laurel wreath and the ŠKODA inscription will no longer feature as part of the logo.

This is how the logo will be on the cars:

Phew... that is good news thankfully!!!

According to the News section on the Skoda-auto.com website:

"The most important change affects the main part of the logo, the winged arrow, which in the new design will be much larger and more visible. The hue of the winged arrow has been changed from “natural green” to the new lush “ŠKODA Green”. The outer area is highlighted with a chrome look."

Take a look at the new Skoda UK website, just as slow as the old one.....
