Roomster 1.9 TDI 2007 Fast idle problem

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just noticed that my Wifes Roomster even when warm, on start up the engine is idling at around 1300 rpm. As soon as I blip the throttle it goes down to under 1000rpm. Turn the engine on again and it is back to 1300rpm on idle. It has onnly recently started to do this.

1.9 tdi engine? Any ideas. I have read it could be water temp sensor?

Thanks

James

Possibility that it could be the throttle position sensor

I was going to say the same thing. There is a lot of information about this in the Fabia II section. Put "throttle position" into the "search" facility and see what comes back. Good luck.

I had this issue with mine. It was the throttle position sensor.

Thanks for all your replies. Is it an expensive repair?

Cheers.

Can't help with idea of cost as it was done under warranty as it was only a couple of years old at the time.
