Yeti's best seller is the 1,8 TSI?!?!

Featured Replies

Maybe Aylesbury is in the stockbroker belt but in this week's long term review of Autocar's Yeti they mention that Hughes Å koda of Aylesbury thinks their best seller is the 1,8 TSI?!!? Hmmm

Also surprised that the sat nav update to get full postcode search costs £145!!!! Yikes!

Go get a garmin!Lifetime European maps approx £75

The 1.8TSi is only the sixth most popular engine choice according to our own survey.

That's if everyone has completed it

For me the 1.8TSi isn't the best seller in terms of volume sold. Without actually checking our retail registrations I'd say it was a very close call between 1.2TSi and 2.0TDi 140CR. Oddly over 85% of our 1.2TSi sales are DSG. After spending some thousand miles driving one it isn't hard to see why. But I do prefer 4x4...

Have to agree with James; very impressed the the 1.2TSI DSG on our demo drive but 4x4 is better suited to the changeable conditions here (and on the right tyres of course :giggle: ). Can also understand the popularity of the 140 having owned one for just over a year; will have to see how we get on with the detuned 110 verion in the oh yes distant future

I'm not too surprised that 85% of your 1.2 TSI sales are DSG - you had a demonstrator - most dealers I spoke to or e-mailed were not the least bit helpful. Ordering one "off the page" without trying it doesn't have much appeal, (particularly as a 1.2 would seem a little small for an automatic in a car the size of the Yeti). So it could be that you have gained sales as a result of other dealers lack of interest.

Good pre-sales support should have its reward.

Having watched how the 1.2 DSG moves up and down through the gears to achieve its 40 mpg economy I'm not sure I would like to drive a manual in urban traffic and try and achieve the same economy - my left knee wouldn't like it.

Thanks for the thought Mike but putting a Monster through 'open heart surgery' looked far to scary :giggle:

Will content myself with letting the rest of the world pass me by at speed and hope I don't get to much road rage for holding them up
