This don't seem right

Featured Replies

Just put in £20 of deisel from shell, trip read only 10 miles left before refuel, put in the fuel save stuff I think, and now I hve almost a half tank which would normally read about 180 miles left but it's saying 125 left from an almost half tank :S , just seems low compared to usual.

It adjusts on how you've been driving so if you just cained it for the last mile then it will be low or really high if you drove sensibly. I get 70-100 miles before the needle even starts dropping off the 1/1 mark so you're not really at half a tank, it's more like 1/3 of a tank to be honest meaning a total of 375 miles per tank which isn't bad really.

What was the average MPG saying when you pulled into the garage? If you'd been going through town or had a spirited drive the fuel range bases your latest driving on the range it thinks you will get. Once you go on a run / gentle drive, the range will go back up to 200+. :)

was getting about 35mpg, wasnt driving hard at all. thats why it seems strange, wont be to do with the amo that was wired in yesterday no?

35mpg is about right for 125 miles on £20 of diesel though, especially at todays prices. If you'd gone in with it saying 50+ mpg it would have read higher. Anyway, that's your answer! :D

as long as its ok, aways seemed higher than that at those mpgs before. as long as its nothing to do with wiring the amp and sub in....saying tht maybe due to the battery being disconnected has wiped the ecu memory and reset it to learn how the car is driven/.

At £6 a gallon it's about right. The actual fault is caused by the chancellor.

Try going for an eco-drive, then with the range on start giving it some beans. I bet the range falls in faster 5 mile intervals than you are actually travelling. ;)

well last week. had 10 miles on the trip left so put in £20 or diesel fuel save.....gave me this

this week. 5 miles to empty left and same again £20 of Asda diesel (supermarket fuel)

newclock002.jpg

you do the math? how can £20 from 1 station give half a tank (roughly) and show 125 miles to empty and another 165?

its normal i can brim the tank and it will say approx 400-450 miles left. ill do 100 miles and the computer will be still slowly creeping upto the 500-550 mark. all to do with how its being driven just prior to filling up. i was once giving it the beans and filled up with full tank. imagine my surpride when the computer still read 45 miles! i was like wtf is going on. got outt o check for leaks and everything. next time ignition was switched on back to 450

reset your mpg, drive economically and watch it climb!
