Sorry folks, not sure if this is in the right section, if not could a moderator move it to the correct section?

Anyway, hi, my name is Barry and have recently been offered a SKODA OCTAVIA 2003-2004 Diesel 1.9L Manual 5 doors CLASSIC TDI.

Its an ex-taxi, a 55 plate, and has done slightly over 190,000 miles, and owned by my father in law.

It has had 2 owners, he has owned it for 3 years with no MAJOR faults.

Although I have driven a skoda before, my last car was a Renault Megane and got robbed, so treading very carefully.

My worry is the miles, it certainly appears to be a lot of miles for a car relatively young, taxi or not, not sure if I should go for it or not?

To be fair, it is in MINT condition, like I said, just worried about the miles

If its got the correct service history to back up its cosmetic appearance miles should not be a big concern you can always have an RAC/AA check carried out and defiantly a fresh MOT. But at the end of the day the price is the real big factor in the sell! In my experience it would want to be cheaper than the book price as it was a taxi its a big turn off to a lot of people and does lower prices and interest to prospective sellers.

ps ALWAYS get an HPI check even if its from your granny!! person sell may not have done one when they got it and unknowingly pass on their misfortune to you or worse someone else's debt
