I will be disconneting and removing my battery at the weekend while i fit my cold air intake pipe, i was wondering if i will need the radio code when i reconnect it? I have the standard stero tape system, read a few posts that you need the code was wondering if this was true,

It should just reset mine does....when you turn it on just let it sit for a few min.. turn it back off then on should work..

You could try hooking up a jump starter via the cig lighter to give the car power while you change the battery to be sure. Heard somewhere that there is a way to turn the radio code request off.

The standard Octy head unit gets its coding from the ECU, so it will be fine if you disconnect the battery.

What he said. When my turbo went pop last year, my car was sat for the best part of 3 weeks with the battery removed and all was working when I reconnected it.
