Engine warning light!

Featured Replies

Went to my car in the garage this lunchtime to go out. Started it up and it sounded bloody rough, really lumpy! I reversed it out the garage and the engine light stayed on. :o I turned the ignition off and left it for a couple of minutes and then turned it over again. Everything was fine. I've used it a few times this afternoon and no further trouble. Has anybody else had anything strange like this happen and whether a fault would be logged? If so, I might run it back to the dealer.

If the engine light came on it will log a fault, but may not be too specific on fault.

Petrol sounding rough from start up is commonly electrical fault, like ignition pack not firing properly, ht lead, spark plug fault etc. As it went away it could be ignition pack or simply could be a battery prob.

Best to get it checked out asap though.

Cheers

Steve

Fingers crossed its just a one off glitch

Thanks for the reply Steve. I was hoping something would be logged. At least the technician might have something to work on when I take it in. Hopefully that'll be the end of it! :(
