Changing Headlight Bulbs vRS - Info

Featured Replies

Changed the dip beam headlight bulbs today , not too many problems - bulb needs gentle easing out of the holder.

When I came to change the main beam - its different to the dipped !!! There is a small ( chrome looking) hexagonal counter sunk screw. This has to be loosened before you can turn the bulb holder. The screw does not have to be removed. The holder than can be turned and removed.

I had to use a mini - socket set ( 1/4 " drive) to loosen the screw.

I have got some Osram Night Breaker Plus and some Philips X-treme in the main and dipped.

Will see how they go. At the moment its pretty even between the two.

I didn't have to loosen off the screw in the main beam, mine was slack enough to turn it anticlockwise out of place, and tight enough to hold it back in place again.

Not the easiest of jobs in the world though getting them back in, especially the dips.

4 x Philips Xtreme-Powers on mine.

4 Philips Extreme 80% in mine. They are rediculously tight but I have to say I thought that was a good thing given the amount of vibration and shock they must be subjected to with the tyres and suspention.

Same here didn't have to loosen any screws a bit tight to unscrew not easy but certainly not the most difficult job in the world. Replaced with 4 x Mtec H7s, there quite reasonable for the price. Seem to have got better after two weeks don't know why.

Anything is better than the crappy stock ones which were in!

They are in the boot now as spares (just in case I have 4 blow at once emoticon-0140-rofl.gif)
