Slow boot opening on Estate

Featured Replies

I just noticed recently that my boot is quite slow opening. I unlock it via the remote control, and i can hear it unclicking but there is then a few seconds delay for the second click to release the boot. If i try to open the boot immediately after using the remote control it won't open until the secondary click for it to release. Its as if i have to wait to get it to fully release from the lock, and the delay seems much longer, than my previous recollection.

Has anyone else noticed this? or is it just me?

You are not having fun lately are you!

Mine takes about half a second to release the lid.

It might just need a bit of a spray with some white grease on the moving parts if they are sticking a bit.

Hi Andy,

Ha ha, things can only get better. I won't even bother telling you about having to buy a new boiler in the house as well this month :rofl::rofl:

No on a serious note, i don't know whether it's me taking a bit more interest in the car of late, but mine takes about four/five seconds(doesn't sound a lot but i'm just waiting there for it to open) after the initial unlock for it to release, quite a few times i have unlocked it and gone to open the boot and cannot until it fully unlocks.

I don't know how it gets unlocked whether there is some kind of motor there and it's on it's way out i don't know.

By the way the car is going like a dream now(cross fingers) and is booked in with Skoda garage on tuesday to get my windscreen washer sorted as it's leaking, and then on Wednesday, it's booked in with Ben to have the DPF removed and ecu reporogrammed.

After reading this post i went out to check mine low and behold a good couple of seconds. Now im thinking is there a problem or has it always been like that?

Found it quicker to get the boot open by completley unlocking the car and pressing the release button (above number plate).

A trip to Shark for a EGR delete and remap!

Boy, you have had an expensive month.

How come you haven't gone with the group buy on the remap+STS???

You will be amazed by the power increase after a trip to Ben.
