green seats!

Featured Replies

My fabia is blessed with the awful green seats and door cards combo, I can't really justify a re trim or custom seat covers and new cards, so I started to look at other options. I stumbled across something called simply spray upholstery paint:

How do you think this would work in my car? I would be more than happy with black.

Pic? I never seen green seats..

Theoretically I don't see why it cant work, as I assume its just some sort of strong fabric dye.

quick search of video shows this:

I would suggest try do it on the headrest first then if it dries hard at least it wont be so bad, or it can be replaced..

Why not try red and black?

just buy my vrs ones in the for sale section lol

I'm soooo toying with the idea of doing the pale grey areas of the seats in mine....

In the long run I'm looking to have leather later in the year so I'm coming round

to thinking why not :wonder: .... I'm just worried the dye won't take well into the

nylon like fabric on the vRS seats. On the other hand it might look great saving me

the bother and expense of a re-trim. This product looks ideal but how would the

finish stand up to strong sunlight and heat for example? I just wouldn't want to

ruin my car (more... ;) ) by going ballistic inside it with a spray can.

Also would this stuff stain my shorts/trousers/shirts etc?!

*If I was to sit on it

lets face it you'd remove the seats from the car lol

If I buy vrs seats is still have to buy door cards so not really worth it on a 1500 car. May be on hold for a while now though as some bell end decided to key my bonnet last night!

Not sure how to get a pic up, sorry. The car itself is dark green, so am unsure about going black/red? However, if i go black everywhere it could be a bit too much...

Update - as suggested I got a can of the paint and tested on the rear head rests!! Although they look ok, I think it would be almost impossible to achieve a decent finish on the seats without an awful lot of messing about. I may just about be able to get a half decent result on the door cards though....

I guess this means i need to either look out for some replacement seats, or a set of good quality covers that will will fit nice and snug. Anybody parting with their interior soon? I'm not convinced a VRS interior would be a sensible way forward with the white bits, would prefer something darker.

Obviously Fabia seats will be a straight swap, is this the same for the polo and Ibiza? I understand golf seats will go in but with alot of work!!
