2007 Octavia VRS Black Magic 280bhp - now £6999!

Featured Replies

House is going on the market in the next few weeks, so this is the only official sales push - price reduced and paid adverts on Auto Trader and Pistonheads. Revised text below.

07 plate, Tax January 2012, MOT March 2012, good Vredestein tyres all round. Originally a Skoda company car, then bought by a Skoda mechanic at the supplying dealer - then bought by me.

Optional extras above standard spec include Maxi-Dot, 18" Zenith alloy wheels, centre armrest, sun shades, VRS mats and Bluetooth phone kit. Currently fitted with £1800 Sat Nav/DVD Skoda unit which is not included in price but can be discussed - will refit original CD player and changer if not required.

Mileage is currently 52k but this will rise with use.

The car has a comprehensive fully stamped service history with a huge wad of bills. Recently serviced including cam belt and water pump. Comes with all original documentation as received with the car and 2 keys.

Over £8000 spent in the last 3 years I've owned the car in upgrades and maintenance - it has wanted for nothing.

All upgrades have been professionally fitted with receipts to prove. The car made 280bhp on a rolling road back in November 2010.

Will consider part exchanges in my favour but would prefer a cash sale.

Still here.

Price drop, still open to sensible offers and part exchanges.

Dont want to swap for a fabia+ cash

  • Author

Thanks for the offer, but I'm looking for something a bit more standard than mine is, ideally with a larger chunk of cash than your Fabia would give me - sounds awesome though from your sig :)

Bump - had some *interesting* part exchanges since being a premium Pistonheads advert which I might have to consider taking but would still prefer a cash sale....

:o I'm crying for you. Thats a crazy price. I suppose it sums up the market ATM. Looks like were both keeping the cars for a while :giggle:

Well, my optimistic "house on the market in a few weeks" was indeed optimistic - it's going on this weekend :)

So, car is still available and will be up until the point we sell the house, at which point I'll no longer have any need to sell it.

Still open to cheaper part exchanges (and having turned down a load of stuff now I'd probably be less selective if the cash portion was right) and still waiting for my first cash offer!!

Doh, didn't change the price - £7999

Well, the house sale has caught us by surprise - it sold within 4 days to the first viewer :)

We've bought a house far enough away to make my daily commute to Swindon a painful experience, hence I've just lopped a whole grand off the car, now £6999.

Still open to offers but please be sensible - will px for, god help me, a diesel.

:(

I know its a PITA but at that price (which is an absolute baragin :o ) You have to seriously consider returning to standard. Even if you pay a mechanic to do all the work for you it will leave you better off fiancially and you then have the option of trading in as a P/X for a diesel.

I feel for you buddy. What a situation to be in :(

Seriously this car is up at a bargain price.

You don't seem to have updated the milage, which was 52k back in Feb.

I'm surprised at the lack of interest, but I suppose the mods are going to put the majority of people off. The clutch will have to stay (and is one of the main reasons I've not put it back to standard yet as it can never truly be sold as 'standard' - the meaty clutch gives it away) and the intercooler will be uneconomical to remove - a lot of the other parts could come off easily though.

It just seems such a shame to do so - I would have bought this car in an instant when I was looking around originally, and now I've dropped to £7k I think this is now a genuine bargain.

Donovan - if you're still interested in an exhaust deal then perhaps we can talk in a couple of weeks if the spanners are going to come out :(

No, the mileage is accurate - as is the price also on the first post which I updated last night. There used to be a 'last updated' displayed on edited posts but I can't spot it for some reason.

Thanks for the heads up though.

Can you really notice the clutch that much?

TBH The price you have listed now isnt much different to the price of a standard car the same year and mileage anyway. Certainly if you were looking to buy from a dealer.

It just seems to be that nothing is selling quickly ATM, well aprt from your house :giggle:

Anyone looking at buying the parts and moddding their own car will see how much of a bargain this is. Maybe list the mods again so people can see them itemised and hopefully show how much they are worth. Yeah some people wont be interested unless its standard but theres a lot of people who will be looking for a car like this. It wouldnt (and didnt for that matter) put me off, in fact it was a posititive and allows the new owner to save some time and money

I wouldnt sell mine for that price thats for sure. I would rather keep it and get a loan to buy a commuter diesel B)

You'd notice it if you've driven a few other VRS's before hand - though I think in a positive way so it's not all bad.

I think the price it's at now is actually lower than I'd get if I removed all the sellable parts (EVOMS, pump, Columbus, Bluetooth, Exhaust etc) and either sold it as standard or traded it in, so I think I might put that plan in action in a couple of weeks time. I'll reduce it to £6999 on all the sites (already done Pistonheads but my advert is soon to expire) and give it a while longer.

I see your point about the diesel and might have thought about that before I bought my motorbike, but there's no way I could justify having it sitting around simply as a toy - it would never get used.

Ta for the input - someone please buy it, it's such a cracking car!!
