no note left and I know there was plenty of room at the side of me geuss who ever was driveing the silver pick up next to me needed that little bit more room no note left either :'( going back tomorrow to see if they have any cctv watching that area.

hope you have reported it already, i would have been straight back in to ask about the CCTV as the longer you leave it the harder it is to get anybody to do something about it.

I wish this came as a surprise, but it doesn't. Lost count of the number of dents and scuffs on my car. emoticon-0106-crying.gif

Hope they do show you the CCTV, and hope a good resolution comes of it! Good luck!

Same happened to my car a year or so back but luckily there was no dents just a scuff, no note left either the spineless ******s :swear::@

Some people shouldnt be allowed to drive !!!

It's bull****, got a dent in my door and arch that wasn't there before, someone has done it when I wasn't about... Normally park diagonal over 2 spaces but sometimes it's not possible.

Leaving a note is the thing to do, but as insurance companies are screwing the motorist, very few people are willing to own up. Hopefully CCTV will yield a reg number, and you can have them done for failing to report an RTA.

This is one of the reasons I park right at the back of the Tesco car park.

I get moaned at if I'm giving anyone a lift, but they get "politely" told that they have legs and can walk a few yards across a car park :p

Makes me sick.

Damn that is annoying! someone did that to an old car of mine when it was less than a week old :(

Eep. Feel bad for you matey :(

Had this happen to me a few times in the past.

Now I always park miles away in the quietest corner of the car park.. it's good excersize too :D. And if it's rammed, I just turn round and go elsewhere/home. Having said that, it does have the down side that my mates all think I'm insane...

Bloody idiots.Same thing happened with the wifes audi tt.She got hit on the back bumper where she works(Wrightington NHS,wigan). The car was only a week old and no cctv.Same thing no note left...makes me sick.

Outrageous!

Hope that you get a result from the cctv Si...

Happened to me a little while back but I took note of the reg number and the next day noticed a scrape on bumper - drove round my area and happened to find a new BMW with matching scrape and same reg... left a polite note and he coughed up after I threatened him with legal action and police :giggle:

Although last night another BMW reversed into my front bumper (no damage - bumped number plate bit) I saw him do it and went out to give him an ear bending, he laughed said it was only a hire car - his not mine (10 plate 325i) so I jumped off my front wall and gave him a scare. Silly thing is he has reversing sensors and space was 2 cars long... :|

how much do you think im looking at for a repair?

1/4 panel and blending - if its a good place be around £300, maybe more.

he laughed said it was only a hire car - his not mine (10 plate 325i)

Surely that's a bad thing for him, assuming he has a nice big excess to pay for any damage etc.?

I also like to park far end of car park, always seems there's a herd mentality though and quite often someone parks within a few inches of you out of all the other empty spaces they could have gone into.

Personally I think spending ages driving around near the entrance hunting for a space is an insane waste of time when you could be parked up and have walked into the store in the same time. Saves petrol, stops you being a lazy ***, plus hopefully helps prevent dents.

tesco's won't let you see the cctv or tell you the reg number, it's private property too so you will struggle with your insurer..

i always park as far away from everybody that i can, but somebody always comes and parks right next to me when i do..

edit: oh forgot to say, it was probably a woman driver too

just to let you know there is also a criminal aspect to this as its classed as a non stop RTI, although it would be a ball ache proving that they knew that they had done it mind. Hope the cctv proves useful, if you get a vehicle index then you could report it to your local police station and they may be able to do something about it.

good luck

How does freedom of information act factor into this? (I know nothing of its details.)

the above is not nessesarilly true because the car park is classed as a road when the gates are open so the insurance may want to play, as for the cctv i think that will depend on the store. if they wont play report it to the police and they can do it.

they could always state that its protected with data protection act lol

I feel your pain!!!

This happened to the wife car last year. But lucky for us a couple spotted it happening and follow the car and got the reg number. There are some good people out there

As above post they are not the best at helping out for some reason, which is a bit strange. Considering every little helps!!!! Not in this case. They said the camera did not cover that part of the car park. Which was right by the cash machine. Which you would think to be the first place to get covered!!!

The good news was that the number we obtained .After phoning the police with the Reg number and a few weeks of waiting they cautioned the gentleman concerned and his insurance paid out. I hope someone might have seen it or they might be more helpful in your case. Just don't give up and ask to speak to the head of security.

 Great legislation there then! But seriously, I thought the DPA covered individuals? Although I guess you could claim it's the individual responsible being protected or something? :S

wtf?? i've think you've got your parties mixed up mush, that's only for government held informations...

in all seriousness though, my sisters's husband is the manager of a large tesco store, thier policy is to only give out info/reg numbers to police/authorities

I get me coat then shall I?:giggle: Thought it was for anything that doesn't disclose info of an individual.
