Hi all, ive looked in the manual,on here & even looked in a car data book at work but im having no luck, im trying to reset the inspection reminder on my octavia 19tdi x reg, all i can manage to do is get 4 0000s up & change the numbers, upto 9 on each. wen i turn the ignition off back to square one. is my car on longlife sevicing or am i missing the obvious,ive only just got the car from a family member for free & still learning about it. cheers lee

If your car is on long-life then it needs to be reset via vagcom/dealer. If fixed interval then the instructions are in the owners guide (and repeated numerous times on here).

Your car switch between either, but needs to be serviced with the appropriate oils, and then the dash reset in the appropriate method. Generally most people recommend fixed, although I run my TDI on LL, as I can clock up 30k+ a year, and don't really want to change the oil 3 times a year!
